Brandon Davids was the obvious standout man on the day, winning the third stage of Jelajah Malaysia with a commanding performance.
But for me, it was Malaysian rider Fauzan Ahmad Lutfi who was the star of the day. Fauzan, who is a time trial specialist, survived the first two climbs and timed his attack well to finish second behind Davids.
Fauzan, who rides for PDRM-G, is a firm crowd favourite who has had his ups and downs over the years. It also proved his third place finish earlier in stage 2 was no fluke.
Nobody had expected him to do as well before the tour start.
Well deserved result for the 31-year-old.
